I'm disappointed to say that it's been ten hours and no one has been reported killed. I'm also disappointed to say that of seventeen players, so far less than half have armed themselves. If you're unarmed, you should get a weapon. If you're armed, you should move quickly in case your mark is still unarmed.

A firefight ensued tonight between Jameel Watson and Andrew Wiss. They both wounded each other and were held under armed guard until the DM could arrive and adjudicate the outcome. With both of them mortally wounded and near death, a duel was decided upon to determine who would receive the booby prize. The outcome of the duel was decidedly even, and both were killed. The booby prize was split among their estates.

It has come to the attention of the DM that some players have been carelessly brandishing weapons. There were three reported incidents of players unintentionally leaving weapons in plain site, drawing them in public, or just dropping them accidentally. Each of these players is lucky to still be alive, and as time goes on, I suspect other players will be less forgiving.

The safe haven bounds of Stimulance have been clarified. In the front, the border outlined by the metal fence is safe. The stairwell and door are not, but the entire stoop is. In the back of Stimulance, the patio up to the wooden trellace (the mobile one) is safe. You cannot stand on safe ground and attack a player not on safe ground, or vice versa.

9:10 PM 6/26/2001
Jeremy Kornbluth was gunned down tonight in his own stairwell. Reports indicate that he wasn't as fast a draw as he had claimed.

10:34 PM 6/26/2001
Janelle Dubenion and Christopher Gauvin were both killed tonight in a stand-off. It seems Mr. Gauvin drew his weapon and suffered a misfire. Janelle dispatched him immediately. Janelle was taken down by a shot to the back of the head by an unnamed assailant. The Kornbluth residence took several hours to clean.

12:16 AM 6/27/2001
A player reported a near miss tonight between two assassins. Glad to see tensions are running high. There was a lot of other activity today, including a few failed assassination attempts.

1:13 AM 6/27/2001
A forum has been added so players may threaten each other, among other things. The posts from Carlos have been moved there. Check it out, post comments, have a ball, stop calling me. Unless you're reporting a kill. I'm going to bed now.

8:34 PM 6/27/2001
Vincent Catanzaro's body was found tonight outside his car on Main Street. Apparently someone poisoned him, most likely with contact poison. Anybody who had money riding on this can now pay up.

9:17 PM 6/27/2001
The Norwalk Avenue Neighborhood Watch committee reported seeing a suspicious short girl with purple hair casing a house. She seemed to be peering in windows while a black pick-up truck waited. No further information was available, the police ignored it.

11:36 PM 6/27/2001
Eric Polovich was shot in cold blood this evening outside Stimulance coffee shop on Main Street. It seems Jesse Goldberg got trigger-happy and took an opportunity to kill someone without counting out witnesses. The police are questioning the 15 confirmed witnesses. A ruling will be coming down shortly, but it's clear that Jesse must be eliminated before the polic get too close. I will be placing a bounty on his head shortly.

11:45 PM 6/27/2001
The DM is considering imposing a camping rule. There has been a serious lack of activity from some assassins. The fear is that they may be working with the police, or be undercover cops. The DM will continue to research this, and may call open season on anyone who appears to be a plant.

11:48 PM 6/27/2001
Open season is being called on Jesse Goldberg — please read all of the details below:
It is imperative that Jesse Goldberg be slain before the cops track him down. As such, all assassins should treat this as a priority. In addition to their marks, they should consider Jesse Goldberg to be a valid mark. The details of the open season are as follows:

If you have any questions, forget 'em and hunt Jesse instead.

8:34 PM 6/28/2001
Scott Howard was gunned down this evening. Reports are still sketchy, but it was definitely his body. Apparently his schedule proved to be his undoing.

11:49 PM 6/28/2001
Jesse Goldberg has been dispatched — 4 minutes into open season. The kill was extremely well planned, the police even think it's a freak accident. Near as the police can tell, Jesse went to use his bathroom and a venomous snake came up through the toilet and attacked him. His body was found in a sitting position, with rigormortis causing his hand to retain the copy of Dork Tower he had with him.

Apologies for the log down-time. It seems my host likes to cache static HTML pages that get more than one request a day. As such, the log has been renamed and is now generated by a script to avoid that problem. Hopefully this should work out for all y'all. Now, get back to killin'.

7:23 PM 6/29/20011
There has been a double murder tonight. Ok, a murder and a kill. It seems Jeffrey Venning spooked another assassin, causing the assassin to get a little trigger-happy and shoot him. Before Jeffrey's body hit the ground, the assailant turned and opened fire on Rebecca Rotundo, parked in a pickup truck off the street. Before she could get to her gun, her assailant had riddled her with holes.

Open season is being called on James Schiffert — please read all of the details below:
It turns out the killer of Rebecca Rotundo and Jeffrey Venning did a poor job of tracking witnesses. Between the extra witnesses and the out-of-order kill, James Schiffert is being called out. The details of the open season are as follows:

7:50 PM 6/29/2001
Stephanie Cole was killed tonight after a bizarre series of incidents that left one man on fire, and her body riddled with bullets and Gold Bond medicated foot powder scattered across various contusions. It seems James Schiffert attempted to shoot her on the street, but she reacted just as quickly with a small flamethrower. They were dragged inside and chose to settle their differences honorably, with a blackjack duel. James Schiffert came out on top.

Crouching mongoose, hidden howler monkey
With the theme music to Mortal Combat blaring in the background, and an assembled crowd of onlookers, the duel started. The terms were decided in advance, the first to land three solid hits was the winner. It was an intense battle, with Cole's capoera style an effective foil to Jim's reach advantage. Finally, in the third overtime, as Cole dove low, Jim managed to land a solid hit, ending the duel. And so his murderous rampage continued unabated. You can download a .zip of the full-size images if you like.

Open season update for James Schiffert — please read all of the details below:
As punishment for another kill with too many witnesses, and out of order, the terms of the open season have changed. The changes to the open season are as follows:

8:42 PM 6/29/2001
R. Michael Gilbert is dead. He was gunned down on Main Street, but his assailant will receive no penalty since a weapon was exposed. Clearly the jet lag caught up to him. Reports indicate that Gilbert's weapon didn't have the range Schiffert's weapon had, and it was just a matter of time as he ran like a frightened girl from car to car, deperately seeking cover.

10:22 PM 6/29/2001
Jane Pietraszek was knifed to death at a party in The Loft. It seems her gun was on a table across the room, although in testing, her gun would not fire, so it's probably moot. There were also a whole lotta witnesses.

Open season update for James Schiffert — please read all of the details below:
As punishment for yet another kill with too many witnesses, and out of order, the terms of the open season have changed. The changes to the open season are as follows:

11:52 PM 6/29/2001
James Schiffert is dead. He was shot in The Loft, obviously complacent in his new killing spree. It seems Sara Jones abandoned camp and came in disguise. Jim was on the alert, shooting random innocents for fear of being shot himself. Carrie Freie had made an effort, but Jim's vigilance paid off, and he foilied her attempt. But Sara was more devious, and came dressed as a pink-haired strumpet, effectively blending in with the crowd until it was too late for Jim to respond.

2:23 AM 6/30/2001
We're down to the last two players: Carrie Freie, and Sara Jones. Start placing your bets.

10:38 AM 6/30/2001
No activity reported for today yet. The DM will be out of town for the day, so if anyone dies, payouts will have to wait until he returns. The DM has also updated some of the log entries above now that he's awake.

2:30 PM 6/30/2001
Well, it seems there's another disputed kill. But I'm in a car on the way to Jamestown, so I've left the adjudication up to the killer community while I'm gone. We'll see who gets the prize when I get back.

2:30 AM 6/30/2001
Sara won in a duel around 7:30. I'm going to bed. Will write more later.

10:57 PM 7/1/2001
Well, the champion of the first Killer game in Buffalo in 10 years was Sara Jones. She was given her prize money, and in true gracious conqueress style, took all the players out for ice cream. A small fight broke out between the DM and a couple players, but he was able to squelch their squirt guns with ice cream flung from a spoon. Rules may be made for ranged ice cream assaults in the next game.

Thanks for reading, we're signing off.
