Wurzburg-Riese Radar Station Wednesday, June 06, 2001; posted by Paris Late in the evening on Saturday we finally found the Wurzburg-Riese radar station located at Douvres La Deliverande. Because it was 10pm, we could not get in the gates to see the station up close, nor could we tour the nearby museum/bunker. These stations dotted the coast and provided the Germans with advanced warning of aerial or other cross-Channel activities. Most were knocked out in the early stages of the invasion.
