Wednesday afternoon in Paris
Saturday, September 09, 2000; posted by Paris
Spent the afternoon seeing a few last sights.
A view of the Eiffel Tower from the Parc Du Champ De Mars. People were surprised that I was impressed with the sight, coming from New York and all, but more than impressive in height, it is a beautiful structure. And the blues and greens of summer certainly did help.

A view of the Palais De Chaillot from beneath the intricate and mighty legs of the Tour Eiffel.

This is Napoleon's Tomb. I walked past it on my way from the Eiffel Tower to the Rodin Museum. Mammoth affair...Napoleon certainly made sure that monuments to himself were everywhere, glistening, and gigantic.

The back view of the Rodin Museum. Beautiful gardens, sculptures fill the treed areas to the left and right, and there is a little cafe among the trees on the left. Very relaxing; a wonderful way to experience a museum. And get a load of that sky! Glorious day.

The famous The Thinker sculpture by Rodin, in the garden of his museum. Lovely setting.
