When bad things happen to good bikes
Monday, April 10, 2000; posted by Paris

A few images of bikes, or what is left of them, after being tormented by mean people.

It is very easy to buy a "used" bike off the street for about $25, although not recommended. The next "used" bike for sale could be yours.

I think I will walk.

The bike in the center is better off than the bikes on the right and left. The center one is simply hanging off the bridge over the water - pull it up, dry it off (thank goodness for that chain).

The other two have their front wheels bent - a common site. Also common, just front wheels and chains.

Here you can see about 3 bikes hanging over the edge of the bridge.

Often all that remains is a lock, strapped to some object (a post, or front wheel).

How did the bike get out without cutting the chain? Houdini would be impressed.

The bike has fallen, and it can't get up.
