Holmenkollen - Norway
Wednesday, March 08, 2000; posted by Paris
This inn/restaurant was spectacular. Reminded me of the Lake Placid lodge.
Excellent food and service in a "rustic" environment. If you can, stay here. Great view of the city from this hilltop.
Good Norwegian cuisine. Had reindeer steaks and salmon mousse among other things. Finished with a tasty cloudberry ice-cream.
For some other fotos of the ski jump (if you have a lot of time to wait for the download) check out this site.

Our very pleasant waiter who did his self proclaimed "Michael Jackson" pose.

One area in the dining room. Notice the ceiling.

Wooden staircase built in the late 1800's.

Cabin-like dining area.

The main dining area and fire place.

Not so good outside view of the Holmenkollen.

This is the crazy high ski jump behind the inn. It is tall, and what you can't see is the pit that the skier launches himself into. No thanks. I would fall off (there are no railings).
